| Sound Wave | A mixture of wood and metal, motorized to keep it steadily moving, repetitive dull sound. The installment adopts a metallic structure similar to a piano’s hammer, with wooden frames wave at the beat of its own movement. |
The carpenter Artisan space holds a large tree trunk laid to its side. The installment expresses the process of crafting through showing a gradual processing tree to lumbar. The tree trunk hovers on top of a pile of bricks, placed to hold the tree.
Metal Atelier of Artisan
Different from wood, metal can be altered to fit its purpose or form. The lines flowing in from the stairs and
the black walls climbing the walls from the floor expresses processing metal through three cylinders.
Two rooms, Cylinder structured.
The properties of metal are visualized within each cylinder room. The large circular room shows the raw weight and repetitive images of pipes through volume, where the smaller cylinder room displays a more polished and machined metal, creating a contrast between the two spaces.
Back side of The Ceiling light
On the back side of the ceiling light installed in the entrance is a triangular wooden roof structure, formerly supported by the bricks that now lay under a tree in the wooden artisan space. Expressing the passion of Artisans and their focus on their work, where one would deconstruct and tear down in order to create a new.

The Pure Emotion and Thoughtsof a Master Artisan The contrast between metal and wood, opposite properties of matter is met with an installation inspired by intangible sounds on the first floor, with the second displays master crafts flowing through the corridors, representing the resting mind of a troubled artisan. |

‘Intersection and ‘Bridge’ Spaces
The Shanghai flagship represents a conjunction between commercial space and artwork, where each space and object takes on its own meaning and importance. The experience is unique to each perspective and angle, providing a different visual and sensual experience to all visitors. The entry way where the Artisan space meets the entrance space creates the most layers, which is also where visitors can experience the difference between each.
