Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster unveil their fourth collaborative collection. Centered on “Deconstruction,” the collection proposes a new aesthetic for eyewear by dismantling and distorting familiar forms and structures.

Embodying the aesthetic of the unfinished, deconstructed styles appear crushed and modified, as if frozen midway through fabrication or disassembly, while oversized frames make masks of eyewear, enveloping the face.

The 4th Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster collaboration campaign presents a short film directed by artist Alex Prager.

Following a protagonist through an ever-shifting world, the film introduces the eyewear’s silhouettes through a crowd of distinct personas. Capturing the mystery and tension beneath the ordinary, it reflects a view of deconstruction as the start of new possibilities and creation, as opposed to an end.

The Pop-Up

To mark the 4th collaboration, special pop-up spaces open in eight cities around the world. Experience the harmony of imperfect, irregular forms and contrasting materials at the Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster pop-up spaces.
